Is Algovest an investment adviser?
No. Algovest is a market-intelligence platform that surfaces algorithmic signals. We are not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. You make every decision yourself.
Is Algovest a cryptocurrency or token?
No. Algovest is an explainable market-intelligence app for U.S. stock-market signals. We have no token, coin, staking pool, or yield product — and never will. Any cryptocurrency or DeFi project with a similar name is unrelated to us.
What does paper trading mean?
Every user starts with $100,000 of paper equity — simulated money used to test strategies without risking real capital. Orders fill at the price the signal fired on, with configurable slippage. Paper trading is free at launch and free forever.
When does live trading open?
Live trading via a linked brokerage account is coming soon. Paper trading is available today and free forever.
Can I short?
No. Algovest is long-only by design. Bear signals close existing positions or stay flat — they never generate a short. Multiple independent safety layers enforce this, so even a bug in one of them can’t result in a short order.
Where does the data come from?
Primary sources only. Licensed US equities market data, SEC EDGAR for insider Form 4s and corporate financials, House Clerk for congressional trades, FRED for macro series, RSS feeds for news. Every record carries its source so you can trace any signal back to the filing that produced it.
What’s the difference between Algovest and a robo-advisor?
A robo-advisor makes decisions for you. Algovest gives you explainable signals and tools; you decide what to do with them. Algovest doesn’t hold your money, execute on your behalf without consent, or sell you a managed portfolio.
What are my fees?
Paper trading is free. Live-trading pricing will be set at launch. Brokerage commissions for live trades go to the brokerage partner under their standard fee schedule; Algovest does not take a per-trade cut.
Is my data private?
Yes. See the Privacy Policy. We don’t sell user data. Strategies, decisions, and portfolio state are scoped per user; no user can see another’s data. Sensitive credentials — API keys, broker tokens, anything that could impersonate you — are stored encrypted. If someone ever got raw access to our database, those values would be unreadable without a separate key kept outside the database.
